Online sports betting has grown into one of the most popular forms of entertainment in Malaysia, especially among fans of football, badminton, and esports. Malaysia's tech-savvy younger generation now prefers placing bets via their smartphones over traditional methods. This is where we888 steps in as the ultimate solution — a sports betting platform built specifically to suit the tastes and needs of Malaysian players.
For Malaysians, sports are more than a hobby — they're part of our identity and national spirit. Malaysian Liga Super football, badminton on the international stage, field hockey that has long been a source of national pride, and the rapidly growing esports scene — these are the sports closest to we888 users' hearts. That's why we ensure every major local event is available for betting, with comprehensive coverage and competitive odds.
When JDT faces Selangor in a Liga Super match, or when our national badminton players compete on the BWF World Tour stage, we888 ensures you're more than just a spectator — you can be part of the excitement by placing smart, responsible bets. Our odds for local leagues are updated regularly based on the latest data from global markets.
Live betting, or in-play wagering, is one of the most popular features in the we888 Sports section. Unlike pre-match betting which must be placed before the opening whistle, live betting lets you make decisions based on what is actually happening on the pitch in real time. For example, if you see a team starting to dominate play at the 30th minute but have yet to score, you can capitalise on that momentum by placing your bet at exactly the right moment.
Among the most popular live betting markets at we888 are: next goal (who scores next), total corners in the second half, red cards or bookings, and win/loss odds that shift in real time as the match unfolds. All of this is available through an intuitive, easy-to-navigate interface — even if it's your first time.
There is no denying that esports, or competitive video gaming, has reached a level of popularity on par with traditional sports, especially among young Malaysians. Tournaments for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), DOTA 2, Counter-Strike, Valorant, and League of Legends are now streamed live and watched by millions of viewers worldwide. we888 recognised this immense potential early on and became one of the first platforms in Malaysia to offer comprehensive esports betting.
You can bet on esports teams from Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and more — whether in local competitions or international tournaments like the M-Series MLBB World Championship. we888 offers a wide range of markets for every esports match: match winner, total kills within a set period, which team draws first blood, and many more exciting options.
Set the amount you are willing to wager before starting a session. Do not exceed your set limit, even when on a winning streak or facing consecutive losses.
Before placing a bet, check the team's recent form, player conditions, match schedule, and head-to-head statistics.
Focus on the sports and markets you know well. It's better to master one sport in depth than to spread yourself across many with little knowledge.
Use we888's welcome bonus and sports promotions to add value to your bets. Read the bonus terms carefully so you get the maximum benefit without any surprises.
Football remains the most-wagered sport on the we888 platform, which is no surprise given its status as Malaysia's most popular sport. Our coverage spans over 200 football leagues worldwide — from the big leagues like the English Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1, to Southeast Asian regional leagues including the Malaysian Liga Super, Thai League and Indonesian Liga.
We888 provides over 100 betting markets for every high-profile football match. Beyond standard markets like 1X2, handicap, and over/under, you can also bet on individual player statistics such as shots on target, number of passes, cards received, and whether a specific player will score. This depth of markets is what makes we888 the top choice for serious Malaysian football fans.
When you put money on any online betting platform, security is the absolute priority. we888 uses 256-bit SSL encryption to protect all communication between your browser and our servers — the same level of protection used by Malaysia's leading banks. Player funds are held in dedicated accounts completely separate from the company's operating accounts, ensuring your money is always safe and withdrawable at any time.
For deposits, we888 supports DuitNow, FPX (including Maybank2u, CIMB Clicks, Public Bank, RHB Bank, Hong Leong Bank, and many more), Touch 'n Go eWallet, and GrabPay. Withdrawal of winnings is processed within 1–3 business days and credited directly to your bank account or e-wallet in Malaysian Ringgit with no additional deductions from we888.
We888 believes sports betting should be fun entertainment, not a burden. We are committed to responsible gambling practices and provide a range of tools to help players manage their betting habits. These include options to set daily or weekly deposit limits, loss limits, cool-off periods, or full self-exclusion if needed. If you feel that betting is beginning to negatively affect your life, please reach out to the we888 support team, who will be happy to assist you.
